Fish tacos at Park Chow during today's offsite. Tasty! Golden Gate Park was beautiful -- we couldn't have picked a better day.
Good eggs lox at Lynn and Lu's Escapade Cafe this morning with my mom; the eggs were excellently poached (unusual), the service was astonishingly fast, and the portions were good. Afterward, we bit Berkeley Bowl, called Nate, visited some libraries, and hung around most of the afternoon.
Dinner with Mom at Wasabi near our apartment. The sushi was okay to very good; the service as usual very slow and erratic, bringing us edamame we didn't order and forgetting my water. But they have an outdoor patio, which makes up for it; Mom and I sat outside for an hour and caught up on a nice spring night.
Alex made enchiladas and tofu smoothies with melted chocolate. Delicious.
Brunch at Out the Door in Pac Heights with Tim, Many, Sarah, and Thom. I got a BBQ pork steamed bun -- deliciously made, with an almost prosciutto-like sweetness to the pork -- and the slow-cooked eggs with beef, which was straight-up great. The beef was cooked to a soft, tender perfection, with the juices flavoring the potatoes and the baguette pieces. We hadn't seen them in two months, so catching up was great and long overdue. Then we went and saw the Irish wolfhounds at the parade and read comic books at Borders. Overall, one of the best brunches I've had in a while.

@wellhong and Mirian plied us with delicious food and strong alcohols. Dangerous ones, them.
Alex is on a salad tear so we had a salad with panfried tofu, walnuts, and avocados; I used a chili chipotle dressing. Went quite well with a great Navarro gewürztraminer. Must say, salads are starting to win me over.
A lotta fondue and chardonnay at Fondue Fred's with Seth and Alex (apparently reasonably authentic), followed by some Dominion at his place.
Had lunch with JT -- good to catch up after missing a chance or two to see him. I found lunch surprisingly relaxing for some reason. I also got to try Golden Star, the Vietnamese place beloved by coworkers that I'd never visited. The curry vermicelli was okay (a lot for $7).
SMS team two new team member special power Tonga Room dinner bonanza! Tiki places are awesome, especially famous ones you thought were long since closed.
Grilled portobello. Would have been better with bread, but we were out and I had the afternoon to myself after playing Dominion in the park and dropping Alex off at yoga. Finished a blog post and a Dresden Files DVD and made a spreadsheet -- good day.
Team lunch at Shan Dong. Great success. They really do serve the best Chinese food (the handmade sesame noodles and the sauce with the buns is particularly incredible). Everyone liked it and almost everyone loved it, too.
Spent a few hours working together on our 2009 photo book, then grabbed some tasty pizza at Pizza My Heart in Emeryville. Finished the night with a movie (Princess and the Frog, pretty good), and now heading home.
Philly cheese steaks and three games of Dominion on a nice Valentine's Day afternoon in Crocker Park.
Colin and Liz took us to the pickup party at Hop Kiln Winery. Delicious meatballs (we nearly had a contest) and other food, and some very good wine on a very pretty property. Afterward, we took a way windy road to a random state park filled with some amazing redwoods. Good times!
